Test Analyst Review

I complete work management for my office involving organizing meetings based on holiday approval overviews, and complete test cases and data preparation for testing for Capgemini's clients. I arrive at the office anywhere between 8 and 9 and leave 8 hours later. I am responsible for some project deliverables, and I interact with a lot of colleagues and managers on a regular basis. Although some tasks can be repetitive, there is a lot of variance within my role.

Yes, I've developed a lot of coding experience during my time at university and in work, such as Java and SQL, and developed a lot of people and technical testing skills within my actual job role. This involves being put onto training courses and working towards my initial testing ISTQB foundation which will enable me to be more efficient in my job role.

I enjoy being in a job that offers development, and an interesting change from the normal retail career that I was aiming for previously. I enjoy the options to develop myself and change my career path whenever I choose, as long as opportunities are available. I enjoy the degree side of work with the information about interesting topics about computing from networks to actual coding, to problem solving applicable to all parts of my life.

Enough, I think that given my position around relatively qualified individuals that my position is valued, I just think I'm yet to find my niche. I think that my disability is taken into consideration, and that I have adequate parking and mobility access. I think that perhaps I could feel more valued by having specific things to work towards in my job, rather than just in my degree.

Well organized, I think the procedural development is obvious from other degree apprentices and myself, and the course aims to give people a good head start in the IT industry, through coding experience and practical business application and personality development. I think that the 2 different streams of degree will also show a good development for myself as it tailors to both business and tech minded individuals respectively.

A lot of support, Aston university is very on-top of it's training and support of all it's apprentices. The course information is thorough and when questions are asked to our tutors, we often get hasty responses. Aston also cares about its students and I am aware of very good mental health support that the university offers, so feel safe in their hands on all fronts.

The HR within the company is very apt and responsive, any of my monetary queries are answered quickly and effectively. My managers have provided some support, but I think my situation is acutely different to one experienced before, but the overall opinion I have is a good one. My degree apprentice program manager has been hasty in trying to resolve any problems I have and the manner in which issues are resolved has been forthright and professional.

Well enough. As a young adult, I don't have my own personal independence as I still live with my parents. That said, the degree apprenticeship offers good enough progression that over the next few years I readily see myself being able to earn enough to subsidies my own personal independence and be able to buy my own house. Tat is an awful lot of positives given todays current financial climate.

Yes, there are a plethora of opportunities available. This involves multiple charity ventures, organized by all members of the Capgemini and apprentice community. We also are heavily involved in a 'giving back' program in which the apprentices help to raise the Degree Apprenticeship profile for Capgemini by using our experiences and shared knowledge to better the intake of apprentices into the company, and create more incentive to join.

Yes

It's better than going to university without a job, and better than a job without a degree. Also, the company has so much sideways movement that if you find you are not happy in one area of the business, there is no reason you cannot be happy in another.

Pick your area, if you have the opportunity, dependent on what you truly want to do and should you wish, put an emphasis on wanting to travel. Other than that, be yourself, because at Capgemini that is probably the most valued aspect of your employment, Capgemini employ people for the people, and the skills they posses are an added bonus.
