> Job Title: Software Engineer > Daily Tasks: Currently working in the security space on a Hadoop platform. Day-to-day tasks vary every day, there is lots of variation in the work and each day there is a new challenge. The work is interesting and very rewarding. Going to meetings, interacting with the client and with colleagues, developing. > There are so many opportunities in work and throughout the degree, it's a great programme to be on.
I have gained lots of skills. Achieved my Level 4 Diploma and no on the degree programme. Gained skills in Unix, Hadoop, Big Data, AWS, Unix Sysadmin, JIRA, Confluence, Git, management, soft skills to name a few.
Excellent. I love every day, there are always new opportunities and we are well supported. I wouldn't change this experience. I do not regret choosing this over going to University and I would recommend anyone unsure of what route to go down to strongly consider this.
Capgemini put there employee's first, making all feel part of a team and that each person is valued. They offer lots of support to make sure that in any situation, you have always got someone there who will support you and give you a helping hand if required.
Very organised with lots of training and the opportunity to complete a degree. There is lots of support and we are given time off work to complete university work as well as to revise for university exams.
We receive lots of support from the training provider(Aston University). Al tutors offer help when needed and always make sure to go the extra mile if someone is struggling or needs a bit more time to understand.
Capgemini offers a lot of support, you never feel that you cannot go and speak to someone and have the help and assistance that you need. HR is excellent, and within teams, there are dedicated people for apprentices who we can go to and speak to about anything.
Great pay, expenses covered and the company has offices all across the country, along with the rest of the world and so location is not an issue! Expenses are paid quickly and the company has got a great pay and progression model which is very useful.
There are lots of opportunities outside of work, they range from charitable work to going to helping out at apprenticeship days to speak with the younger generation and getting them interested in apprenticeships. There are lots of sporting events to get involved in also and the company is very good at offer things outside of work. Lots of social events including regular meet up's for food and drinks.
Yes
Great company to work for, offering a great salary and rewards and you get the best training and experience you could ask for. It is a great opportunity and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great start on the career ladder in an IT company that is a global leader.
Take your time to apply and make sure you sell yourself in the best possible way. Read about the company and learn the 7 core values that Capgemini prides themselves on. If you can relate to these in your interviews you will have a great chance of securing a place. Be willing to learn new things and take on new opportunities and most importantly, just be yourself.
