Started as an associate on the school leaver programme - started alongside the graduate intake and have been treated as equals since starting despite not having attended university.
As part of the programme we work towards becoming a CA through the ACA professional qualification. There are continuous internal training programmes which occur at various stages through the 5 years scheme.
There is a lot of flexibility with working for Deloitte. The majority of employees are young professionals so you fit right in and most people working for Deloitte have started in a similar position to yourself so know what you're going through.
There are many methods of internal recognition, such as limelight awards which a colleague may nominate you for as a gesture of appreciation for work performed, etc.
The structure of the programme in place is very detailed, Deloitte know where they are taking us with this programme and offer regular catch up sessions to keep the brightstarts up to date.
Accessibility of support - Accessibility is great. There are so many people you can approach, from your buddy (through the buddy scheme), your appraiser, exam manager, or your college tutors, they are all very supportive in your development and show a very positive attitude at all times.
A lot of support is received from Deloitte and they are always thinking of ways to try to improve processes in place.
The salary package for the brightstart scheme may seem competitive, but when it comes to the actual amount of work we do we are paid far below the salaries of graduates who effectively play the same role as us.
Lots of opportunities to get involved in secondments.
Yes
better alternative to the traditional university route.
