My job title is 'IT Technician Apprentice'. My daily tasks involve working on projects and attending related meetings. I interact with different business departments and sometimes with external suppliers depending on the project. I have 3 month placements within different departments which allows me to move around the business and gain new experiences.
I have learned many new skills and learned about how the business functions and the different IT processes. I have attended training agile training courses as well as an introduction training course to Cloud Computing. I spend one day per week at university studying BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions and spend the rest of the week at my workplace.
I really enjoy the program as it gives me the opportunity to study for a level 6 degree qualification whilst also working day to day within a business environment. The programme exceeds my expectations overall.
I feel valued by BMW Group. I am involved in lots of projects during my placemnts around the business. Apprentices are highly valued within the BMW Group to support the future business.
The programme is well structured. I complete different placements around the business which are planned out beforehand. I also have regular 1-1's with my manager/mentor.
I receive lots of support from my training provider. Lectures are always helpful when answering questions relating to the course and my work.
I receive lots of support from my employer. I can always go to my manager with any queries regarding my programme and any other issues.
