I'm part of the Bloomberg Philanthropy Department, my role consist a lot of hosting and prepping Volunteering events as well as multiple other admin tasks.
I've definitely developed my communication and presenting skills as I've had the opportunity to interact with a vast number of employees.
I absolutely loved being part of the Philanthropy team, working with my team was an amazing experience and they provide just the support I needed that allowed me to develop myself as a person.
I felt very valued at Bloomberg, not just at Bloomberg but also in my team and as a fellow colleague. I'm always involved in team projects, meetings and have had the opportunity to work with pretty much everyone in my team.
I joined the team at a point where there was a lot of shuffling of job roles however even at that point I never felt lost on what needs to be done. Different members in my team tasked me with different objectives all the time to see what I can handle and then proceeded to trust me with more and more responsibilities.
My training provider(StepForward) was very difficult at first to deal with. We had changed our Tutor possibly up to 3-4 times with in a time span of about 2 months and every teacher had a different approach as to how we would do our course work and by the time we finally adjusted to one the tutor would change again. This made the first few months with Step forward an absolute nightmare. After wards when we finally had a stable tutor things stabilized and was so and so.
I received quite a lot of support from everyone in my team. I had the opportunity to have 1:1 with everyone in my team and talk about their roles and how they might need my help. Different members in my team tasked me with different objectives all the time to see what I can handle and then proceeded to trust me with more and more responsibilities.
I think the salary package does somewhat reach my costs but Travel and daily and social cost has a very hard impact on what I'm left with. Personally as an improvement I believe it would be wise to increase the Salary for future apprentices.
Yes
It was a wonderful experience and helped me build and develop transferable skills that I will use further in my career.
Be yourself, when ever a new apprentice joins any apprenticeship vacancy they are not their to fill in the shoes of the apprentice before them but to develop and build themselves and their own path. Hence be yourself and be prepared to come in with a learning attitude.
