My job title is an apprentice planner. This involves learning different skills like how to use P6, Artemis, MLCC,SAP, learning about work orders and EVM, how network works and how to task allocate and add progress and budget onto a plan.
yes through college and work
I love the program and my job in the workplace however I cannot stand college and feel that I do not benefit from it as the teaching staff are poor and I do not understand what I am supposed to do half of the time.
Yes
There is little to no structure over our scheme and we the 6 apprentices that are planners have had to organise our meeting with management to discuss putting a more structured scheme in place
We receive very little support from college (training provider). They seem uninterested in us and the teaching standard is very poor
We receive plenty of support from early careers and the planning management staff
Yes
Because it is a good opportunity and the pay is good and I find it is a good place to work
Take every opportunity provided and don't worry about college too much as support will be provided in the workplace you just have to get through it
