Job Title: Associate In the day to day of my job it is my responsibility to select samples and test that sample for various accounts to ensure that the value in the clients books is correct
Developing professionalism, excel skills, problem solving and learning how to conduct myself around clients and in the working environment
I despise the work, the way our college and exams are set up are shocking. Culture is too heavily focused on hard work, everyone is stressed - not the company i want to work for. The people are all friendly and willing to help out and explain stuff, they're probably the only thing I like about the job.
Not at all - expected to work stupid long days (14+ hrs on some clients) and there is never any reward for the hard work
Shockingly - expected to do college and learn the content 8 months before the exam, way too long as well - other Big 4 firms do the exact same programme in 3-4 years
barely any - seven days of learning 8 months before the exam and two days of pointless revision a week before the exam. barely any materials to revise with on Kaplan/ICAEW websites
none - expected to juggle work/college/social life straight from college with no guidance. always feel stressed
not at all - school leavers who do the exact same job as the graduates just get paid like 10k less.
There are many things you can get involved in outside of work. We are granted CSR days which we can use to do voluntary work with charities
No
Work is too much stress, pay isn't good enough, too much travelling.
Don't bother
