Work as part of a team as an associate to test different parts of controls report testing and audit testing.
Through practical work experience I have been able to put into practice the knowledge gained through university exams. This has helped me to develop and learn new skills in regard to audit and controls testing.
I enjoyed working as part of a team, I also enjoyed working for a big firm, and the advantages that come with it. At times I found the work challenging and found that I didn't receive the coaching I needed in order to complete the work.
When working with different teams, majority of the time I felt that the work I did was appreciated and I was congratulated for it. When it comes to social events and being involved in different areas of the firm, I felt that flying starts were not always included, especially on mailing lists for events.
I experienced good amounts of training before and during the programme, however felt that there was a lack of support at times during the placements. During busy season we had a University project to complete, which was difficult to complete due to busy season hours, we did not have much spare time to complete this
A good amount of support was received from my university tutors, which helped with university work during placements
I received an excellent amount of support from the HR team during my time on placement, as well as a good amount of support from each team I worked in and my people manager
I received an amount each week to help with living costs while living at home which was really helpful
There was not a huge amount of company events and activities while I was at work, but that could be due to the short amounts of time we spent on placement. The location of the office was excellent
Yes
Overall, I enjoyed my time working at PwC and think that the course is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get an ACA qualification
Be prepared to show leadership and relationship skills when being interviews and assessment days
