Working as part of external audit teams to conduct audits for various clients.
I have managed to progress in the following skills: whole leadership, business acumen, global acumen, relationships and technical audit knowledge.
The joy comes from meeting various people both within the company and at external client businesses. It has also been enjoyable being able to learn about clients and industries in more depth.
Appreciation can be recognised from feedback collected from various jobs this allows me to make a good assessment of how I have performed. However, there is not a great deal of recognition from external clients or more senior members of staff.
I believe the structure of the programme has been prepared well. There is fair amount of support available to flying start students. However, I do believe that the university need to consider the deadlines for assignments while taking into consideration the busy periods that individuals are placed in.
The university have been easily accessible while being very accomodating to needs and requirements.
There is a great deal of support provided if requested and within appropriate grounds.
I believe the salary is not sufficient to compensate for the long hours and travel costs. Especially, in my circumstances, my office location was 50 miles from home. I did not have the option for having paid accommodation or the home allowance. The distance to the office meant that client offices never fell above the limit to be able to expense. So this caused my expenditure to be fairly high reducing the amount I earnt.
Yes, the company offer a variety of activities that they support and encourage staff to take part in.
Yes
Its great starting place to career and it provided an individual to wider coverage of the financial industry.
I would encourage others to be confident in what they believe and practice interviews and mock assessments. I would also encourage asking questions rather than being scared if the question is silly or not.
