For the first year you are “Store Apprentice”, in which you learn every aspect in day to day running of the store and learn each department. The second year you are given more responsibility and become “Apprentice manager” and start being the duty manager while learning the management side of the business.
Team work and using my own initiative under pressure have improved a lot.
I enjoy it a lot, it pushes you to the best you can be and I get paid a lot more than most apprentices.
Very, I am a vital part of the team day in, day out.
Very, I know where I’m at all the time with my progress in learning.
I am in contact with my assessor at least twice a week in terms of visits, learning and my progress.
My manager is the main reason I have progressed so quickly due to the support I get.
It’s ok. Towards the end of the programme I am doing the same job (if not more) as deputy store managers, yet I get paid a third of their wage.
I want to progress with Aldi a bit further and then see where my NVQ takes me.
