  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I very much injoy the job and been on site. The people I work with and my line manger are great to work with. I often get asked to pointless activitys that arnt relevent to my apprentership by higher management, such as building a path in London. I have been mucked about by my company as they have changed training provider half way through my apprentership. I have also been to 4 diffrent colleges.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Thames Water?
  • Within my team and area I feel valued, however from higher up they dont aprecate the situation my team is is as we are understaffed. Been on the edge of Thames Waters patch meens we are fogotten about. All my Training is in London where the mjority of my year are based but for me it is over a 2 hour drive

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was all quite organised until they changed training provider. Thames Water expects me to drive lots of miles in my own vechcal when every other employee gets a van or company car. I can claim milage but that hasent stopped me getting buckled wheels, cracked windscreen and thousends of miles on my car.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • before the chainge it was good but the new bunch are hopeless. They are rejecting work that has been previously signed off by an NVQ assessor. Again as I am so far out no one likes to come and talk to me about it.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manger, mentor and the rest of my team are exclent in helping me with the job and wrireups but they are under their own pressures. I never hear anything from HR but the apprentice manger is good at getting problems sorted.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I work in the cotswolds which has to be one of the most expensive parts of the contry. I dont understand why the epprntices within the M25 get payed more than myself. As an apprentice I am payed quite well but I am not sure about when I come out my time how that compares.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I have nothing to do with Thames Water outside work, nor do I want to. I am involved with Young Farmers which take sup a large portion of my time as well as resoring a pickup.
