My role is an Electrical apprentices, what this entials is that I'm here to learn and gain knowledge in my chosen field as well as garsping an understanding of others in my work place. my daily tasks consite of going out onto site to observe site operatives and contractors carying out works to gain a better understanding of the broad vierty of works carried out in each field of work, Along with this I carry out Weekly SHE inspection out on site along with Target Risk montering inspections. I am also completing OVI's weekly and fileing closed Permits into the relative folders. I also help assist the commisioning team on thier daily activitys.
I have learnt an array of new skills since joining Costain I have been on various course and gained both knowledge and understanding of not just the structure and requirements of the work place but also just how skilled and talented workers can be. Some Training course I have attended are first aider course, confined space course Level 2 & 3 and a DSEAR training course.
I enjoy the program a lot I have a good site team that are friendly and helpfull, however I must say that the apprenticeship did not meet all my expectation as I have been hear a long duration of time yet I ahve completed no practical work in my chosen field.
I feel very valued by Costain asan employee.
The overal structure of the progarm is good, inductions and training are all well thought out and executed, studying and support are carried out in a very profesional manner.
I receive a good amont of support.
I receive lots of support from my employer in the form of support systems such as MY HR team and a 24 hour support call line. Along with this there are many services avilable to help provide support and guidance.
my salary package meet's my costs fairly well allowing me to cover travel and living expencence and still leaving me enought money to afford daily cost's.
There are a vast array of opprotunities such as company events, company fun raising activitys, voluntering events and meny more.
