  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a account manager for the public sector team down here in the Marlow office , I call into schools in the hope to find opportunities. I can do this from my phone or go to the cold calling pods. When not calling I am doing admin work , responding to customers over email , making quotes etc

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love the programme , I have really enjoyed my time so far at Softcat and hope to continue my time working here. I think the coursework is deal able and isnt too much work and because its based on your own work you do on the job its easy to talk about it and expand on what ive done

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Softcat?
  • I feel very valued , I'm not treated as a mire apprentice and hold the same respect that other colleagues in higher positions receive. The fun culture has allowed me to make friends with many people within the business , due to the high amount of social events that everyone is involved in.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the program is well organised , we get clear instruction from our apprentice managers and also the leaders of the program [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] , everyone is very supportive if I had any issues or concerns with the program. So yes I'd say it has a great structure to it

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I say I receive sufficient support from my training provider , which in this case is Remit. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] (employed by Remit) comes in once every month to hold a training session which goes towards completing our apprenticeship. He's great and cares about our progression and how everyone is doing at the job.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I would also say we receive enough support from Softcat. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] my apprentice manager is always a couple desks away and we have 1 to 1 meetings every month to discuss my work and how everything is going in and out of work. I also have [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] , my team leader to talk to if I have any other pressing concerns.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I feel my salary just about cover's my costs , however I could do with another £100/200 a month due to the high transport costs I have to endure every month, As i live around 45 minutes away from the office so petrol costs eat in to my salary alot. Apart from that they are very fair.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes there are lots of company events to attend and also lots of vendor incentives to go on. Softcat also offers paid days out of the office for charitable work and helping out with the local community. They are very on board and supportive with charitable events. I also attend a regular Monday night football session with the Marlow office.
