My job title is Technical operator. I work in Paxo department, preparing stuffing batches for our Lines 4 5 6 and 6A. Our leading label of stuffing is Paxo. However we are also producing stuffing for supermarkets, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Asda and Aldi.
Yes, of course. Developing our existing skills and learning extra content is the main focus of our apprenticeship programme. Every member of our team in Premier Foods is getting training. We have different levels of Grades in our factory. Each grade represent level of knowledge and experience. As a Technical operator you start on grade 7 and eventually you progress to the grade 5. Apprenticeship program is here to create better environment for us to learn food industry standards even more than we would in the work environment.
I like it a lot. More knowledge allows me to be more confident in my role.
I feel that Premier Foods also value the fact that I volunteered to be part of this programme. I am glad they open apprenticeship on our site. In the long term I believe our company will benefit from having more skilled staff.
Well organised. Our mentors are skilled and well experienced. We feel the support every time.
Willing to help, not only when we ask for help.
This is the first apprentice programme which took place in our factory and by my opinion, Premier Foods is doing well. Showing the interest to help us as much as they can.
I am happy. Of course I would welcome pay rise.
We do organise some events, last year there was not as many as we was expecting, however our General manager mentioned on last meeting that they are planning to focus bit more on social events this year.
Yes
By my opinion this is friendly work environment, once you know what to do and you are doing your best to do your job best as you can, you can actually enjoy what you do.
You must like manual work.
