My role is to help my general manager run and operate the business, I help coach other team players and generally build on my own knowledge using the help of other managers, colleagues and BDM
I have learnt a lot from the level 4 qualification, I wished to build on my knowledge of the profit and loss data and focus on the food stock to which I have completed both and I feel comfortable speaking in detail about both
I enjoyed the training days away, as you were able to meet with other managers or assistant managers and discuss the course, it also gave you another chance of asking for further help with the qualification. Leaving the business for a training day allowed me to concentrate fully on the course and ask for help when needed without any work distractions
I feel as a Greene king employee we are not as valued as we used to be, there is no one to contact when you need help and I feel this is because the company has become too large. In regards to the apprenticeship I feel I have had no recognition in completing the Level 4 course considering I am the only one in Chef and Brewer that has completed so far. Although my BDM has recognised i have finished it would be nice from an ops director.
The qualification overall was structured okay - at the beginning of the course I set out with an RT, by the end of the course I had been assigned 9 RT’s. The monthly training days were planned well and were informative, without them I don’t think I would have completed parts of the course well enough
My last RT Vicky Moses was excellent, I can not recommend her enough! Without Vicky I wouldn’t have been able to compete the course and I am really thankful to her
My GM has been really helpful, he has helped with all of my assignments and workbooklets and has been there to offer further training when I needed it
I feel that my salary is ok
In peterborough there are a fair few job opportunities
No
At the moment I feel the company has become to large, similarly to the 4th question, The is no recognition to those that achieve, and when there is recognition it seems to be the same businesses. At the moment our entire focus seems to be only on labour and it’s begining to loose it’s fun
Come ready with a lot of energy and a red bull! Prepare for a lot of hard work however depending on your site, have fun!
