Assiting with the build or maintenance of aircraft.
I have learnt many new hand skills during my apprenticeship. The methods in which I work have also been improved. Drawing reading skills and following instructions have improved.
I enjoy the work environment on the shopfloor. The experience engineers on the shoopfloor pass on there skills to us apprentices. Always made to feel welcome.
I dont really feel valued on the shopfloor. Apprentices are given recognition by the training school and senior management seem to buy into it for the annual awards presentation.
I do believe the training school assessors have done a really good job in organising our NVQ work, majority of apprentice fitters are well on track to finish their NVQs on time. I do not believe the further education side to our apprenticeship is run well or organised.
I see my assessor regularly and he provides the necessary support needed. The assesors that I have had during my apprenticeship have been well organised and provided a solid structure to my apprenticeship.
Provide the neccesary support needed to pass my apprenticeship. Provide PPE etc Resources such as HR and occupational health are also provided.
I do struggle financial towards the end of each month. The wage doesnt meet my social costs.
No, not that I know of
Yes
The skills that I have learnt will stay with me for the rest of my career. The skilled engineers on the shop floor teach the skills which are required of you to carry out your job. The benefits such as holidays etc are very good.
Go on the website and research what BAE Systems does, what they make and where they are located.
