On a daily basis at work my main roles currently are working stock on shop floor, keeping shop floor tidy, dealing with customers and also serving on the tills. Once I start management training this will change.
I’ve learnt more about how businesses work, I’ve gained my level 2 retail qualification and also basic skills for working in a retail environment. These include using jacks and bailers.
I enjoy my programme because I am learning and pushing myself forward, the people I work with are friendly and helpful at all times.
I feel like I am less important then other members of staff and that I’m a burden to my colleges, even though they are helpful I feel like I annoy them because of me constantly having to ask things and sort out visits.
It is very structured so far. A few issues but they were sorted fairly quickly
My training provider is supportive of me but don’t fully understand how tight my rotas are and how things need to be organised in advance so I don’t effect the day to day running of the store.
Managers are very helpful however area managers are very supportive and offer seminars at the head offices and one to one conversations if there is any issues.
Aldi apprentice has one of the best pays, we get rises every year obviously if you are on a apprenticeship you get paid less as you are learning witch is understandable. But a apprentice manager does not get the extra money for doing their ‘dep’ hours which I think is unfair as we are management apprentices for 2 years so atleast in your last year you should get the dep hours bonus
No.
Yes
Because they are a great company to work for compared to any other supermarket franchise even if there are a few issues here and there.
