My role as a business academy student was to partake in day to day tasks within the audit service line of EY. We also had to prepare a presentation to present at the end of the week. The week involved tasks such as shadowing meetings and looking at what the work in audit involves.
I have learnt more about how the firm operates and it was insightful to get experience within a realing working environment. The presentation improved my research and analysis skills. And also my presenting skills have improved from the finl task at the end of the week.
I thoroughly enjoyed the EY Business Academy and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking at going into accounting from college or university.
From the start of the week, I felt valued by everyone. It is an enjoyable working environment and everyone seemed easy to talk to within the office.
It always felt like there was a task that could be worked on. I would frequently be approached by a member of the team asking if I would like a task to complete. The overall structure of the week was well organised.
The support from your counsellor and buddy was always there and if I wanted to talk about something or had a query there would always be someone to talk to.

I has pleased to reciecve a wage for the week. Because there are other work experience programmes that I know do not offer pay.
Throughout the week on a few occasions I was taken out for lunch which was a good opportunity to speek to other people that work within the firm.
Yes
Because it was a very informative week and I learnt a lot about the service line that I was working in.
Try your best and it is worth it.
