EY Business Academy Review

The EY Business Academy entails a week of work experience at your chosen office. You will get to meet a variety of EY staff and even go to client sites. At the end of the week you will have to do a small presentation to some of the staff at your office, but by attending the programme there is a chance you will be fast tracked through the EY School Leaver's Programme Application.

Yes, I have gained confidence about the workplace and have improved on my presentation skills. There is also various virtual sessions which provide advice/teaching on many skills necessary in the work place.

Very much. The team was so welcoming and friendly that I felt relaxed straight away. The workplace culture at EY was so great that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I didn't expect to go to client sites so that was very exciting and I learnt a lot about the Audit side of the job. I thought it was a really informative and valuable programme.

Very valued - despite only being there for a week you meet so many people that are willing to give you advice and guidance for the future. I feel comfortable speaking to these people and will be sure to keep in contact with them.

The programme is very well strucutured with virtual inductions, training and constant support from the staff. Having worked as part of an EY team at a client site I was exposed to such a good work experience that I learnt so much. All the staff were welcoming and knew what the progamme was which made it easy to ask for help. It was a very formal application process which made sense as it can fastrack you for other programmes.

Lots of support. I had a buddy and councillor and recieved continuos support throughout the week. We had lots of catchups to ensure I was feeling happy and comfortable. As well as this my team were incredibly friendly and were always willing to explain their work and the clients.

Lots of support. You're given a buddy and councillor so you have at least 2 points of contact. As well as this, everyone is so friendly that it's easy to ask for help. Everyone you encounter is more than willing to introduce themselves which is great as you meet so many different people with unique perspectives.

Since this is paid work experience (which is rare for a Big 4 company), it is very impressive. Also there are lunches which the company pays for which is another great way to network. Considering it's only work experience it's great to be paid - but if that's the only reason you're applying I'd think again (it's a very competitive application process).

The programme is only a week but there is lots of time to network and socialise. There are usually a few lunches where you are with your team and they will speak to you about their career paths and any advice they have. Most of the people I encountered were fairly young which made it much less daunting.

The company has a great workplace culture with lots of apporachable staff. It's very easy to feel comfortable and the company is very well established. It is one of the Big 4 which makes it a very attractive option for many candidates and is recognised by many univeristies and employers. It's a great way to see whether this industry is for you.

Know about the School Leaver's Programme and the other offices (and their focus) for the telephone interview. Remember you're basically applying for the Apprenticeship rather than just the week of work experience. It is a very formal process so make sure you know lots about the company and your specific office. It is a very worthwhile programme to apply for.
