As a business intern I have been shadowing auditors within EY's Assurance Team, more specifically Insurance, assisting with the tasks in the Planning Stage such as filling out Fraud forms and sitting in on meetings with the client.
I have developed my IT skills by using internal softwares such as EY Canvas, as well as Skype Business and Excel. I've also developed my networking skills with my buddy, counsellors and other members who have been on the School Leaver's Programme.
I felt very welcomed by the team at EY and everyone on the programme. I've learnt a lot about accounting, more specifically auditing which has been useful for me.
They are very welcoming and eager to answer any questions I have about their journey, what they do and EY as a whole.
At the start I wasn't sure what the programme would consist of, so more information prior to starting would be useful. However they did set out a clear timetable for the week with lots to do, including networking lunches and virtual elarning sessions.
My buddy is a very useful contact; she is friendly and informative and very eager to help me on the profgramme.
The Business Academy Team have been speedy with replies and help with queries when asked.
The salary of £200 was useful as it helped to cover the costs of travel. However, if lunch was provided each day this would be better.
Staff are happy for you to sit in on meetings and this programme fast tracks you to their School Leaver's Apprentiship Programme.
