It wasn't a job. Everyday it was different we went around different departments and sub-departments finding out what they did. We also had some research and a project to do over the week.
I have developed my skills of communication and my understanding of what kind of work is done at EY.
I did thoroughly enjoy the programme thanks to the people and opportunities it provided me with. The culture of the business was very relaxed and supportive and made me feel very at home.
Quite? Everybody was friendly and welcoming and helped us throughout the week with any problems that we had.
Quite well organised, we had a series of set activities to do throughout the week. Mainly it was just about meeting lots of people from different departments and finding out what they do.
There was sufficient support when I started with the usual IT induction. Throughout the week I was given access to podcasts on basic business skills such as presenting, writing and networking.
I received lots of support and advice from people at all levels in the business throughout the week, everybody was friendly, approachable and helpful.
It was fine, normally you wouldn't get paid on work experience so this was quite nice. It wasn't a huge sum but it wasn't a job and you weren't doing real work for them so more wouldn't be expected.
We went out for lunch a few times and heard of different activities people were getting involved in there e.g. some people were walking to Everest for charity.
Yes
If they were interested in working in a business like this then this work experience is invaluable.
Do it even if you aren't sure if it's the thing for you. If you don't try it you'll never find out.
