I was a Smart Futures work experience student. In the first two weeks I had sessions on business skills - working towards a CMI qualification. In the third week I worked in the EY office as intern, learning how different roles work and working on real projects for clients.
I developed my business skills through the Dragons Den type day we did. I also greatly improved my Excel skills when I was working in Audit. I feel like I have become more professional and learnt what it is like in a working environment.
I really enjoyed working with the other students, and also talking to the staff. The culture is really friendly and optimistic. I learnt a lot in the programme, and it has opened up a new career path for me. The programme definitely exceeded my expectations.
The team leader from EY Foundation and many of the partners of EY we met all reiterated how important it was to have young people gaining work experience and how much they value our experience. I was involved in projects as if I was a new intern and was treated like one of the staff members.
Every thing was well planned and was kept to the structure. Induction and training was efficient.
I received a lot of support from the EY Foundation leader and also the manager I worked with. All the staff told me that 'no question is a silly question'.
The same as my training provider.
I was very pleased that it was a paid work experience. My travel costs to anywhere out of my linked office was paid for, and so was lunch. Very satisfied.
The EY Foundation holds alumni event which will allow me to network further.
Yes
Because I benefitted so much from the programme and wanted to others to have the same experience.
To be honest and enigmatic.
