Proofreading contracts Legal research Updating logs Researching social networking events Engaging with other members of staff about their route into law Developing an understanding of commercial law through conversations and reading case files
Learnt more about the business side of law firms, importance of social networking and engaging with clients so as to convince them to choose your firm over others Improved my communication skills because I was meeting new people all time Developed my commercial awareness through helpful presentations delivered by trainee solicitors
Enjoyed it much more than I expected I would, because I was with other students my age so the process didn't feel as daunting. Everything was very organised and professional and staff made sure I had work to do so I was constantly absorbing information and learning new things
Very valued, staff took a genuine interest in my background and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible and gave me feedback on work I had produced which made me feel valued by the company
Very well organised, had presentations all week, was a bit disappointed that we didn't have a mock trial but everything else counted towards a really valuable experience
a lot of support, supervisors always there to answer my questions and gave really good answers to my queries, much more supportive than other supervisors I've had at other firms whilst doing work experience
n/a
n/a for salary would have been helpful to have had travel costs covered for seeing as some students were travelling from quite a distance
n/a, wasn't at the firm long enough to partake in any activities
Yes
very organised programme, very friendly staff, far better programme than anywhere else I've been this year so I would definitely recommend
Do your application on time and try not to say generic things about why you'd be best for the programme, explain your interests to show that you are a well-rounded person
