On a day to day basis, I did various things. A lot of it was hearing speeches from people from different parts of the company e.g. Audit and Assurance. On the 3rd week, we did a business experience week, and we went to corporate partners to get some experience - I went to a stockbroking firm called Rowan Dartington.
From this experience, I've gotten a GCSE equivalent qualification in business managment. I've also learned a lot of soft skills like presentation skills.
I enjoyed it a lot. I got to work in a team with people I had not met before. I also got to understand different corporate businesses and saw how different the culture was different in both of them. My favourite was the week at Rowan Dartington because they really made us feel included and were to supportive.
I felt quite valued but at the same time, because the business is so big, sometime I felt a bit distant in EY.
It is quite organised, they really delegated tasks quite well and we got a lot of support.
We got a lot of support.
THe employer supported me a lot.
A lot
There are opportunities like the school leavers programme.
Yes
Because I honestly learned a lot about the business world. It has also made me rethink my career choices in the future.
I would advice them to really get all their forms in on time, and not to give up because of all the forms because what you get out of it is worth it.
