As a work experience student, I was primarily given research tasks to use for assistance in an ongoing case.
I have definitely developed my research skills. I analysed relevant information and produced a report using it.
I definitely felt that I was occupied for the majority of the time, but could have enjoyed it more had I been given more tasks, or more tasks that required producing work that was to be used for clients. However, my expectations were exceeded as I felt that everyone was very friendly, possibly attributable to the open office plan.
Receiving feedback for my work definitely made me feel more valued. Perhaps if I had been involved in tasks with more team members, then I would have felt more valued.
Definitely very organised. We were given information packs and had timetables so we knew what to expect. Being given other work experience students' emails so that we could communicate was also beneficial. However, I feel that I would have found the programme to be more structured had work been prepared in advance for me to do, as opposed to trying to find some work for me to do whilst I am on my placement.
If my supervisor wasn't available, other members of staff were, so I definitely felt that there was support.
People were very accessible should I have any queries.
Very pleased that train tickets were sent in advance, instead of being reimbursed for them. However, other firms have provided remuneration for work experience but this was not the case.
I have heard that there are activities for teams to do together, but I did not experience any myself.
Yes
Pinsent Masons definitely exceeded my expectations. Everyone was very friendly and it is an environment that I am comfortable working in.
Relax! The team are fantastic and there's nothing to worry about.
