I am currently on the corporate scheme in the Marketing department. My role is mainly focused on social media. I look at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This involve's me finding recipes to post, letting customers know about the latest deals, creating competitions and many other tasks. I also have meeting's everyday where other people will brief me on what they have been getting up to and i will do the same for them.
I learn something new everyday. There is always opportunities open for you develop your skills. My manager is really helpful and always guides me if i get stuck or will give suggestions so i can improve the work using my own knowledge. I have also been out on shoots which has developed my communication skills. This is really good because it means you get to see more than one aspect of the business. When i go to University i also find that i can put what i have learnt into practice when i go back to work.
I really enjoy the programme. There is so many opportunities and so much support available. Everyone wants to help you grow and develop in your career. I work very closely with managers as well which is very beneficial because i get to see how they work as well. I thought i would struggle managing university work along with working full time but the work load is managable and the company support you in every way.
I feel very valued by Morrisons. They really do see us as their future managers. I have a lot of responsibility which makes me feel more valued by the company because they really are pushing us and want us to do the best that we can. They also provide you with a buddy which is an apprentice that will have already done a year and this is very helpful if you have any questions as well.
My programme is very structured. Whilst i am on this programme i will gain experience in store. I am currently on my first placement, which is a 12 month placement, in my second and third year i will get two six month placements. This means that by the end of my programme i will have had experience in five different areas within the business.
I receive a lot of support. I have a tutor at Uni and they're very helpful. Even when we are not at uni they will always respond to emails and i've guidance if you are ever stuck. I also have my team that are always there to help me when i need them. This is really important and has meant that i had learnt a lot more a lot quicker because i can put what i have learnt at uni into practice.
I receive a lot of support. I have a line manager, a mentor and a buddy. I also have my team that are always there to help me when i need them. This is really important and has meant that i had learnt a lot more a lot quicker because everyone is so helpful and i am never in a position where i don't have anyone to ask for help.
This really meets my costs. At the minute i don't have a lot to pay for but if i did i could still afford everything and still have enough left to go out and enjoy myself. Morrisons really do look after you and make sure that everything is going well. They will always listen to you if you have any problems.
Yes there is a lot of opportunities outside of work. I recently got involved in an event for the local community. This was very good because it meant that i could go out and gain some more experience of what Morrisons get up to. They also hold a lot of events within work as well such as at christmas time they invite everyone for a christmas dinner.
Yes
It is such a good place to work. There is so many opportunities and everyone is so helpful. I would recommend Morrisons to anyone because they really do want the best for you. Not only my managers but my entire team always include me in everything and i get to see so much of what goes on in the business. It really is a great place to work.
Be yourself and get some experience in the stores to see what it's like
