My role as an IT sales apprentice at Softcat PLC is to interact with many different companies in the northwest, by various means such as cold calling, email marketing, post and meeting to talk to them about what Softcat can do for them in terms of their IT infrastructure and suppliers.
I have developed so many new and exciting skills since starting my journey off at Softcat, many include things like cold calling skills, email marketing and how to sound grammatically correct correct. However another huge skill I have learnt is being a team player, taking calculated risks and thinking fast.
I enjoy my programme to such an extent I would recommend it to absolutely anybody. I think having such great support from the L&D team, my managers, colleagues and trainers really helps the programme to run smoothly, it also ensures that you always have someone to speak to if you have any questions.
The Programme organisation is impeccable, every appointment has been booked in our outlook calendars months in advance, the trainers are always punctual and always deliver a great session within a given time, it is also structured in a way that as we progress through the job we are constantly learning something new.
I receive excellent support from my employer. having an apprentice manager really helps, they always help with any problems we come across in our work day, also have the L&D team Is great as they ensure that everything in the apprenticeship and work is running smoothly to help us be the greatest version of ourselves.
we receive amazing amounts of support from Remit. they go above and beyond to help us and this really makes a big difference. having this support makes you feel much more comfortable and confident putting what you learn into practice, they are also a very valuable resource to go to when you need advice or help.
The qualification is undoubtedly the main reason I have a good understanding in my role. we have so much training on the two aspects of our job that I can confidently pick up the phone and sell a whole new network to somebody without feeling lost, or out of control.
There are always many events that we, as employees can get involved with here at Softcat. whether it be charity events, vendor events or social events put on by your team there is always something going on! I believe Softcat has the best ethos in the world. - Happy employees = Happy customers, and this really does ring true.
Yes
Because of the last 9 questions you have asked me. everything about Softcat, from the social side, to the support and even to the friends I've made. Working here is a privallidge, and the career prospers are huge, there are also always amazing incentives in place for those that work hard.
If someone was applying for a role at Softcat, I would say do your research on the company, the more you know the better. I would also say stand out from the rest, be confident but most importantly be yourself. make sure what you apply for is the job for you as well.
