I am currently doing transactional reviews for a major high street bank. The attending university one day a week. I have now moved on to different projects, I also spend time keeping up top date on emails and attending meetings, organising meetings. I also spend a lot of time collaborating with other employees on challenging tasks.
I have massively improved my time management and my ability to on take new information has increased. I have also learned how to work in an office environment and how to network with a variety of people from different backgrounds. I have also learned how to reach joint goal by collaboration and the importance of this.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme overall. it is challenging and the hours are long as we are studying as well as working full time however overall it is more than worth it. The social side of the job is also an added benefit. The programme also improves other skills that are useful elsewhere such as time management.
As we are the first year on this programme there are some structure problems at the beginning, such as understanding how we the university study days will be structured but they have all been ironed out. overall the structure is good and it gives all employees on the programme a range of different projects.
I receive a large amount of support from my employer, this is done by having a counsellor which has also gone through the CMDA level 5/6 years. I also receive support from managers as we can put study days in on short notice and they are very understanding of the amount of work we have to do for university.
A lot of support is received as mentioned above. it is also done by being able to use the office to work on assignments from such as letting us come I and use the resources on the weekend. it is also useful being able to use EY knowledge to complete assignments.
it has helped me improve my style of writing as well as my quality of English. this is by writing assignments and having to have good grammar etc. it has also been useful in improving my researching and analytical skills through assignments, which is then transferred into my everyday work improve the quality of the work I hand in.
There is multiple extra-curricular activity's available for employees such as project nights out which range from a meal to a fun activity, there is weekly football and netball club. there is all occasionally activity's such as networking events that are available. There is also many networks of similar people such as EY women's network and EY religious networks.
Yes
EY is a great place to work and it is amazing at offering opportunity's match any career path. EY is also a multi national organisation so is perfect if you would like to work aboard or in different areas. EY also helps develop you as a person through how diverse the company is.
I would recommend that you apply and give it your all. in the assessment centre be yourself and be confident. Make sure that you know lots about the area you are applying for and that the role is right for you. During the interview process be calm and patient as that is when you will perform you best.
