  • I am a Project Management Apprentice. I do 12 month placements in different areas of the company, exposing myself to new experiences and skills. On top of that, I am working towards my project management degree through the scheme.

  • Many new skills have been developed, from something small like being able to work effectively in a team, to being able to manage and make a positive impact on projects within the business.

  • Overall, this programme has challenged and stretched me and has allowed me to improve on myself and improve my confidence.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised, there are multiple individuals looking after different areas of the programme and there is a clear structure of what is expected.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • So much support. I haven't had a job like this that provides so much support, whether that be in work or even if i needed support with external 'struggles'.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • They are there if i have any queries or concerns.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It is helpful to apply the knowledge learnt to something practical in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty to get involved in, for example stretch assignments.

  • Yes

  • This has been a great opportunity to get involved in, BAE Systems (especially the early careers section), are always supportive and looking out for your best interests.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Get involved in everything they are providing. And, just be yourself because that is what they want.
