I am an engineering apprentice for BAE Systems in my first year. We have been on various different sections such as fitting and fabrication, CAD, machining and electrical.
I have learnt many new skills during my training on the sections and have also further developed existing ones.
I am very much so enjoying the apprentice programe.
I do feel valued at BAE Systems, there is a large amount of respect from the apprentices to the instructors and the instructors to the apprentices.
The programe is well organised with just enough time on each section. I am very busy during the day as there is plenty of work to be getting on with.
The support here is very good. There are 1 hour catch up sections after work for Further Education work for 4 days a week and the instructors are supportive on the shop floor also.
Our training manager always makes himself known, asking if there are problems please do go and see him and generally asking how you are liking the programe. There is a good atitude in the work place.
My salary meets my costs.
After work on a Thursday there is 5 a side football for the appentices and there are leisure and sports clubs on site
Yes
