Yes, I changed my career from healthcare to hospitality and since have gained so many new skills and knowledge. Starting work in mitchell and Butlers have been the best decision yet. I learned new recipes and ideas I could use at home. Learned how to do stock and ensure you have all you need for service.
I absolutely loved the program. I was fully supported by life time training as well as my place of work. I have found bigger passion towards cooking and hospitality industry. I feel less stressed at work because I absolutely enjoy my work. People that i work with have made it 100% easier
I did find program very well structured and easily accessible. But I did find program not well organised and not following learners speed. I was following all the paperwork and all observations but found that there wasn't enough appointments available so I went weeks without seeing my assessor and felt that i could have finished sooner if I was given opportunity.
I did find that my employer was very supportive of my learning journey. If i ever needed help on answering questions or fining my way through it programs I was always explained how why and where to find any information. People were very friendly and supportive if something took little longer than usually.
I felt that my training provider was excellent! Always at the end of an email or phone to help me through. If I needed more of paperwork to complete or if I was stuck on some answers. Nothing was ever a chore to help and/or explain anything. I felt very supported.
I learned better on how to spot quality checks for food, ingredients and how to improve my own and my team members performance during service. I learned how to get best flavors and consistency out of food. I learned different methods you could cook food and how to maintain quality of ingredients.
as far as I know there isn't any extra curricular activities for team member to perticipate in out side of work hours. I have seen some opportunities for people to apply for job to be part of team that listen to and puts peoples ideas forward for them to be heard.
