No day is the same, I am within the pharmacy supply team working on a pharmacy replenishment system optimization. It is interesting and an exciting time as we are about to go live in 500+ stores. I am currently working with the development team to identify how we can categorize our remaining stores within grid parameters. I am also studying for the project management apprenticeship alongside my day job role.
I have developed: Communication skills analytical skills attention to detail prioritizing managing stakeholders managing expectations presentational skills working with large and small teams extending my Microsoft skills especially excel and I am learning ways to use excel and manipulate data every day which is great. I have also developed my self awareness.
I am only just getting started with my apprenticeship however I know how valuable the learning will be and all the skills I will learn and develop will be transferable. I have already received feedback from my talent coach at Kaplan which is great and they regularly email me which updates of my progress etc.
It is currently hard to tell to a full extent however the organization so far has been good. I have 2 development days next week which should be interested and a good way to learn outside of the office and meet other people on the programme for other industries/companies.
I am currently receiving an adequate amount of support from my employer. They have scheduled progress checks to see how we are getting on which is great and I have also got a contact to raise/liaise with should I need to. My line manager is also very supportive of me completing the apprenticeship.
So far the support has been great and the webinars/tutorials have been really useful. I am only a short way into my apprenticeship so time will tell. However so far I am very impressed with the support and electronic feedback I am currently receiving my Kaplan (the training provider).
The qualification will help me to grow personally and professionally within my currently role as well as my next graduate rotation and my future career. I want to pursue a career in projects so a project management apprenticeship is a great place to start, to understand the tools and expertise I should/will need.
Yes, there are different activities within boots you can get involved in. Such as sports clubs - netball, football and badminton etc. There are classes such as pilates and yoga held twice a week. There are also clubs such a green champions who take care of our site and environment around us- there is pretty much something for everyone.
Yes
Boots are a company who invest their time and money into you as an individual. With training, experience and mentors you have everything at your fingertips to grow and develop yourself and your career! The talent programmes are particularly good. I have completing a Year in Industry and I am now back on the graduate scheme which has endless development opportunities and a great support network
Be yourself, be authentic and do your research on Boots! Why are you passionate about the company and what could you bring to Boots that maybe somebody else wouldn't? Think outside the box and think about the future of retail and how we can shape that? What do you love about Boots?
