The role involves paying invoices daily and raising credit notes. As the role develops there will be more responsibility and variety within tasks such as tracking invoices. There are weekly huddles within the team where people can discuss their issues. The team works closely together to make sure that everyone succeeds.

I have improved my excel skills though training and it being a key part of both job roles I have been in. I have also developed my time management skills as I have been given more independence and I have to manage my time for both work and studying. We have internal excel training for all skill levels to help you improve.

I enjoy my programme as it gives me the opportunity to mix with people of all ages which allows me to develop my communication skills. It also provides me with new challenges daily which enable me to develop in many areas. There is also a great social life among the apprentices which makes the programme even more enjoyable.

It is very well organised, before starting you know when all your rotations are and where they will be. The first rotations are only 3 months long which is quite short when learning a range of new skills. The programme provides 20% off the job study time which helps with Uni work.

You receive a lot of support from Unilever as they have many services available. For example the time to talk team are available to help you if you have any concerns. Similarly there is occupational health. The AEA also visit you to check that everything is ok, and if it isn't they will provide the support needed. There is an apprentice well being event in which the importance of wellbeing is stressed and the options available to help you are explained.

The Open University provide a practise tutor and an academic tutor. Both of which are available to help you throughout the course. Your practise tutor is there for more general concerns whereas your academic tutor is there to help you with educational concerns. There are also tutor group forms where students can support each other.

My qualification helps me perform better as it is educating me on the skills needed to perform well within a working environment and in a team. There is a work based module that requires you to combine your work and Uni course in order to evaluate your performance and identify what you need to improve.

There are many extra-curricular activities such as football, netball and gym classes. There is also many social events such as drinks at the terrace bar and team meals. People have created a book club, in which people meet up over a meal and discuss what they have read. There are many activities to take part in.

There are so many opportunities to develop and improve yourself as an individual. It provides you with a wider skill set than University alone as it gives you direct experience within the working environment. It allows you to meet a range of different people of all age groups and is always fun.

Make sure that you are honest and be yourself throughout the interview. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there as this will make you stand out from the other candidates. Try and get involved on the Apprentice facebook/Instagram pages to interact with the current apprentices so you have connections for when you join.
