  • great mix between university and work life

  • much more structured than I expected, lots of training through mace and the option to request more if an individual wants it

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is a good amount of support through regular meetings on progress with HR and line manager. These often do fall at around the similar time so can fell as if you are being checked up on more than is necessary on occasions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I attend a university course, this often means you are left to your own devices when looking to do university work. This can sometimes feel as that there is little support, but I believe this is the reality of university.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Only being in the second year of a 5 year course, lots of the content at university is not relevant. However I expect the next three years to be much more relevant to my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Within mace I would say there is a limited amount, I am a very sporty person and there is only a couple of 5-a-side football events that I have participated in, I would be definitely up for more.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Mace to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are an industry leading company that provide excellent training opportunities for apprentices. I also believe that apprentices are valued within mace as vital members of the organization.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mace?
  • Do your research on the company, its values and its projects. The initial application form is very lengthy but it is crucial to fill this out as best as possible.
