My role on a day to day differs between the different placement I am in. This can range from looking at the on site building of new facilities for the BAE Systems business and the actions that comes from this to looking at the progress on the units we are building
I have learnt the skill of confidence in my own opinions and ideas. As being within different placements and having supportive people around me has helped me to put my ideas forwards to give a different perspective of any problems at hand. This I feel has developed tremendously throughout my scheme.
I enjoy my programme very much. I feel that by learning whilst also being in the workplace helps my understanding a lot. As I feel that the reasoning which is missed through on the job experience can be filled in through learning at college as well as the practical use which is missed in the learning element is filled in through on the job experience.
I feel that my programme is very structured and organised. I feel that the standardisation of all of the higher apprentice roles works well as all trainees can relate to each other. Whilst also being not to ridged structure which doesn't allow the scheme to apply to the different functions.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I feel that I have many different contact points for different issues which allows me to have different relationships which different managers. For example I feel it allows support for different elements of my career or personal support which I feel is very beneficial.
I have good support form my training provider being able to contact them through face to face meetings or emails. I feel that this is beneficial as It allows me to ask questions to my tutor whenever I feel the need. I feel that the weekly learning is very beneficial structure.
I feel that having the learning provided by my training provider (Blackpool and Fylde College) allows me to preform better and the processes and procedures which have to be followed in my job are explained on a standard level. so that through different roles I can apply these practices so that I can help improve that area.
At my work there is many opportunities for extra curricular activities. As part of my scheme trainees are encouraged to take part in stretch assignments which allow networking and to get involved in something which is different from the role which I am undertaking. There is also clubs such as rounder's which people can get involved with.
Yes
I feel that the scheme is very beneficial for a person to have. I have recommended the scheme to my friends as I feel that this can help to understand the organisation. I also feel my scheme of project management is very diverse which allows a lot of different opportunities of roles.
Make sure that you choose the scheme that's right for you by making sure that the qualifications which are going to be undertaken on the scheme are right for you. Also to make sure that you include everything that you have done on your application as everything can help you become a part of BAE.
