During my apprenticeship I rotate around different departments within the business every 3/4 months so far I am working with in the config departments in the business and working with documentation. A lot of the work is admin work but I have had some engineering work to do such as authoring of technical documents
I have developed lots of new skills, mainly in the first year of my apprenticeship in the training school, we learnt foundation knowledge and skills such as fitting, fabrication, computer aided design, 3D printing, machining, electrical and electronics skills. I have also developed my leadership and team working skills over the last two years
When the work is plentiful I enjoy the program and the work I am doing, however there are slumps in workload from time to time, when this occurs it can become tedious to be at work with no work to complete but on a whole the varied work is very enjoyable
There is a well established organisational and structural pattern to our apprenticeship programme, this mostly comes from the experience of running the program for the many years it has been running under the same instructor/assessor. There are still improvements to be made but the programme is constantly changing for the better
Any support I require at any time is given to me by my employer, the amount of support we receive as apprentices is second to none. It is not just support with work that is available, things outside of work have support networks available from help with further education to health issues both mental and physical there is no end of support from the employer.
As much support as is required, the amount of support given by the employer varies from person to person and some people find the qualification requirements easier to hit than others. If people are struggling the training providers offer all the support they can to aid them. They offer support with both work and write ups for our NVQ
The work we need to complete for our qualification is varied and as such we get to see a wide array of the work that goes on in the business as well as the people performing that work. This gives us better understandings of how the business works and helps us to learn faces around the business.
There are often extra-curricular for us to get involved in, such as STEM events which is working either on or off site as STEM ambassadors, we get to work with all types of people from primary school children right up to mature students and college teachers. There are also some networking events from time to time that we are invited to attend.

It has competitive pay rates and world class training as well as helping you get your foot in the door at a worldwide company with lots of opportunity. The first year in the training centre is great for foundation functional skills as well as developing you as a character within the workforce but also as a person, meeting lots of new people and new friends.
Be truthful on your application but do not forget to sell yourself, they want to know the type of person you are both inside and outside of work so do not forget to include any achievements or accomplishments along with any hobbies or interests you peruse outside of work, everything you write down could improve your chances at an interview.
