  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my trainee program. I would defiantly recommend anyone who wants to get into this industry to do it this way. This is because you learn the practical skill from working on site and the theory side from going to university, whilst earning a good salary at the same time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the organization for this program is very well. they often send out a lot of email invites to training that they have booked us on. Further more they have kept the same structure of training and reviews as the first year which makes it easy to know what they require form us.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support system that is put in place within this trainee program is really good. I always felt I had the support form my line manger and other senior members of my site team. Another thing they did was to conduct a lot of trainee reviews to see how we were getting on.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I think the support received from the university when I was completed my HNC was not to good. The lectures would take a long time to reply to any issues I had. However I receive a lot of support from the provider of my NVQ, I am able to get a response very quickly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think all the training that mace have put the trainees through have been very helpful. Without the theoretical side of knowledge that you learn through completing the qualifications you wouldn't understand some situation on site. I believe the qualifications give me the confidence to be able to answer these questions.
