On a day to day basis my role is to welcome visitors to the office, answer incoming calls and transferring to the relevant person, stocking and maintaining stationary, booking meetings into outlook diary system, processing PPE and work wear orders and distributing incoming mail as well as collecting out-going mail to post the same day.
I have learnt many new skills during my time at ENGIE. I have used software packages that I have not used before and developed my skills on software packages that I have used before. I have also learnt how to use different formulas and functions on excel and Microsoft word.
I feel that my apprenticeship is very enjoyable. While learning new skills I am also developing my existing skills. My line manager is really helpful and always pushes me to take on new challenges which makes my apprenticeship more enjoyable. My T2 assessor is really helpful and is always available if needed.
My programme has many modules and is organised by my assessor. Each month I have a 2 hour meeting with my assessor to establish what modules I will be completing during that month. I have a few modules and tasks set for me to complete before the next meeting. This makes time management really easy and I am able to complete all work to the deadline.
I receive lots of support from ENGIE. My line manager is always available if I need any help when completing modules and we often sit down talk through the tasks I have been given for that month. Myself and my line manager prioritise workloads in order for me to have the time to complete the modules and tasks set by my assessor.
T2 Group are always happy to assist with any problem that may occur. I receive calls from the training provider to ensure that my apprenticeship is running smoothly and to check if I need any help. I have a number to call if I am need of information or just need help with anything in my apprenticeship.
I feel that my qualification helps me with my job role on a day to day basis. This ranges from being able to understand my role better due to test and modules I have completed. I also feel that I am learning new ways to improve my performance whilst undertaking different modules.
There are many events that staff have the opportunity to attend. These range from awards evenings, end of year parties, charity parties and volunteer days to raise money for our chosen charities. This year we held a sleep out for Llamu who is a local homeless charity. This involved raising money and sleeping in an outdoor facility.
Yes
ENGIE is a great place to work. They are helpful in all areas and are always available to talk to about anything you may have a problem with. I feel that engie are extremely supportive towards staff and are always looking for ideas to improve the company. I feel that since starting work at ENGIE I have always had support during my apprenticeship.
If applying for a job at ENGIE it would be beneficial to the applicant if they have a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed. I would advise others to ensure that they have a passion for the job they are applying for. It is always good to be yourself!
