  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role includes shadowing my Line Manager and supporting him in any way I can. On a day to day basis I am working on various projects of my own. I am involved in numerous areas of the business, for example the planning department. One of my projects is helping the site have a smooth transition into their new warehouse management system.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am learning something new every single day. I am trying to be a sponge and absorb as much information as possible. Every day I am also studying for my degree and learning about various models and theories and theories that I can interpret and apply into my business projects.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I couldn't be happier with my programme. I enjoy being busy. I am constantly enjoying the feeling of personal growth. This is from working hard and putting myself into uncomfortable positions. At the end I will not only be able to apply for any chartered manager role, I will also have a degree qualification. This helps differentiate me from other candidates.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received lots of support. I also attend a fortnightly call with my practice tutor so that he can provide me with support where I need it. • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have heard about one so far. DHL are attending a Wolf Run in Warwickshire. I am very sport and a runner myself. This gives me a great opportunity to run with colleagues, network and form new teamwork and communication skills. However, I am a very sporty person myself and I do not have much time to attend many extra-curricular activities as it is.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would as they are a trustworthy employer who have given me vast amounts of responsibility and opportunity. • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DHL?
  • The only tips and advice I would give is be a sponge. Absorb all the information you can. This is important so that you can use this information and apply it where needed. It is incredibly vital that you do this in order to improve and become successful at your job.
