• Resource planning for the site a week in advance and then adjusting as necessary. This also links in with developing colleagues and ensuring the site is equipped with the skill set & multi skilled colleagues at all time. • Planning and tracking of the management teams routines and providing feedback/advice when needed • Analysing all data within the operation and building a projected forecast for the coming periods. • Monitor Colleague performance on a real time basis and report/resolve anomalies accordingly. • To analyse a daily/weekly summary of data on site and plan the next steps to increase our sites overall effectiveness and coverage • Continuously improve all processes, not only those in my job role but any that I can identify and make an improvement with. • Develop and monitor KPI reports for the operational team on a daily/weekly basis.
The apprenticeship is helping solidify and critique my current knowledge within continuous improvement. This is allowing me the ability to be able to, not only use these techniques, but also be able to train other colleagues in this culture. Specifically the skill of being specific has helped me the most, one of my weaknesses was always not being specific enough.
The trainer makes the program enjoyable. I fear that without her input and positive energy that the training would fall flat on its face and just become a "tick box" exercise. One of the main drawbacks is having old data and using a paper based system, having a wasteful impact on the environment at a minimum.
The program is well structured, no issues with regards to this. The only issue that I can raise regarding the organization is not with the trainer but, again, with the equipment being used. We are in an age where nearly every job role has the use of a PC and the program feels like it is lacking in its technology use.
I am given the time off that is needed to complete this course. Other than that I cant say much else in regard to support. It does feel as if this is just a tick box exercise and that, even though I did push for this course, every manager was put on this course to make it appear for all intents and purposes that engagement is key on site
Full support and training has been given. The relationship that has been built between trainer and apprentice is one that I feel I can ask for further support or materials if needed. I have no apprehensions on asking for anything, I believe that if [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] cannot help me she will be able to at least point me in the right direction.
Its all about being specific! Between this program and the new OMS culture, I have been equipped with the tools I need to be able to improve my current job role. I do however feel that this is just a faze within DHL and that the training and opportunities will stop and I will not have the opportunity to go on more courses like this.
Unfortunately I work on the night shift so, without drastically changing my sleeping pattern, there is not much I can get involved with. My work place does often hold Corporate Social Responsibility events such as charity runs and such. There are site based events like the "fantasy Football" league also.
Yes
I would recommend a fried to DHL with the side line of "Depending on which contract you work". As in my experience, even though DHL is a massive company and should be consistent, from a site to site/contract to contract basis the level of employee satisfaction varies. I do however strive myself to reach the goals DHL sets for each of its colleagues.
I would start by saying DHL is a good place to work but again this depends on the site/contract you work for. I would state that DHL have particular strengths and weaknesses but as DHL is a company and companies are run by people, your feelings can range depending on the team that you work with.
