I am an SEO expert, making sure websites are performing at a high standard and ensuring everyone understands how to improve the standing of their sites. I also help my team with various other tasks such as helping to create and present various presentations and reports to agencies and colleagues.
I have developed skills such as making Excel spreadsheets, report making, how to properly present a piece of work and how to collate data effectively into different types, of diagram, graph and tables. I've also become better at more efficiently managing my time and sticking to a strict deadline
I fairly enjoy it. Some of the work can be a bit boring and confusing but the team are great. I really do like the people around me but I feel like my job role doesn't always give me the opportunity to fully show off what I am able to do
Fairly well, meetings are scheduled in advance but sometimes meetings have to be made on the go due to the nature of the job. I find the overall structure of the course puzzling as I'm not sure when I should be working on certain projects (this has not been explained)
I receive quite a lot, they are very helpful if i don't understand something and are accommodating to my needs and wishes. They are also very helpful if I'm struggling on a given task and have really helped me to ease in to my first full time job.
A bit. Some things are still unclear and confusing such as various terms. The overall layout of the course is also still a fairly confusing topic. However meetings with my coach are quite frequent and progress checks are also frequent though they could be a lot more productive and helpful.
A lot of what we have learnt has been irrelevant to my job role so far as it has been very hard to implement various processes to use on tasks. I feel like the lessons are tailored towards very specific job roles of which I am not a part of.
There are always really enjoyable events taking place such as various workshops, meet-ups and the occasional party. These are always really good to attend as it is a good time to socialise outside of a work environment, as a result it is a lot easier to get to know everyone.
Yes
Unilever is a very welcoming and friendly environment. I am yet to come across someone who rubs me the long way and I doubt this will ever happen here. Unilever is all about community and networking and you are bound to meet people who will end up being good friends.
Although it is accommodating and fun, it's hard work so don't be complacent. Also make sure you link up with as many of your colleagues as possible, everyone has different levels of expertise in different areas so be sure to pick as many brains as you can as it will surely help
