During this experience, I travelled to Central London to the Deloitte offices. I was registered at sat with several other people in the event. We socialised and then were introduced to the two people leading the experience. We played a few problem solving games before learning about different service lines in Deloitte. Some employees form different sectors even came in to talk to us.
Yes. As soon as we were registered, we were left in a room with al the participants. This sort of made us socialise with each other and become familiar with everyone. Therefore I became more confident, especially when I had to present a few projects to everyone in the room.
I enjoyed my programme quite a lot as it was challenging and very rewarding. I learnt a lot about Deloitte as a company and the people working within. I met many new friends and learned a lot of new things such as different ways to save famous maths problems and memory tests.
My programme was very well organised by the people who ran it. Each morning, they would have their presentation up on the board as we walked in after being registered and it had the agenda for the entire day. Throughout the experience, they stuck to these times and we knew exactly what was going on.
I received a lot of support from my employer as they helped me a lot during the experience and still email me about upcoming opportunities. During the event, both of the leaders were very open and welcoming as well as always being there if I required assistance. Overall, I was very happy about it.
I received a lot of support in terms of working towards my qualifications. During the experience, we went through CVs and how to perfect them as well as exams. They taught us how to deal with stress and how to achieve the best grades we were capable of in our GCSEs.
From what I learnt at the event, I feel that I have performed much better in my exams and also dealing with stress. Just recently I had to compose a CV for a certain company and I remembered all the tips that Deloitte had taught to us. They were very helpful!
Yes, we have a variety of sports teams which represent many different ages. There are always social events and activities during the lunch break where many people come to share their ideas or listen to others about a certain topic. Occasionally we have some networking events where someone from a service line will come in to talk to us about their opinions and what they did to get to the position they are in now.
Yes
I would recommend Deloitte to a friend because their apprenticeships and other schemes are highly beneficial and definitely worth the time. They provide fantastic experience and really give you an insight into the real world of work. However this depends on your age and your progress at your school/college/university.
I would suggest to take your time when reading the role you would like to apply for. Often, people can apply to the wrong role and get rejected. Once you have decide to apply for a role, answer all the questions as best as you can and make sure you answer the question being asked. Be truthful and don't overthink it!
