Work experience Review

During the aspire programme in Deloitte we were giving tasks to find solutions as a team to learn about different qualities that’s necessary to have in the business industry. In one occasion we had to give advice to a company about their finances and provide evidence and solutions on why spending was high and how to reduce it.

I learnt about how to be logical and make my points organised and structured in order to present to others about my ideas as well as being open minded to other people’s inputs. Furthermore i gained analytical skills when reading businesses overview of their finances in order to be able to be meticulous when finding small areas where finance can be improved.

I enjoyed my work experience very much due to the fact that with it I was able to learn about the business world and get some insight about how it works and to manage myself in it which mean that it equiped me with skills which I could use in the future for any potential jobs in the industry

It was quite organised as eveyday was planned and we were given a overview of what would happen during the day. This was very useful as it meant that I could come somewhat prepared to these sessions because we got a PowerPoint of what would occur during the work experience week and so I could learn more about a topic that would be spoken about .

I learnt that the company culture is very open and would be a friendly environment to work in as there was all sort of people there and eveyone would be welcoming no matter where you were from or what you looked like which allowed you to feel comfortable and safe.

The work experience helped me a lot in deciding my future career path as we got taught about all the different aspects that accounting and finance included such as being an analyst a accountant a lawyer as all of these are needed in a business but as we mostly focused on financial work it helped me decide that this industry would be very suited for me as I got an insight of what it is like to work in and what sort of things the job would include

During the work experience as I did not live close I had to take transport to and from my home to Deloitte which was costly as I had to fame the tube due to not living near the area however I was reimbursed for my travel expenses after the work experience after showing proof of what I had spent on travel and emailing it to them with a form

During my work experience there was opportunities to network and meet other employees as they brought in people of about our age who had joined the aprenteship program and give us and insight of what it was like, we also got to talk to employees with different roles in the company and have a lunch meeting where they would explain about their experience and giving us advice for the future and getting networking contacts

I would recommend Deloitte to soemone else as I believe that working with Deloitte bring you many benefits as it gives you many skills useful for the future and prepares you for an actual job as they teach you about interviews and how the industry works as well it giving you good networking and having a good cv as Deloitte is a very well known company that will look appealing to many

My advice to others applying to Deloitte would be to be persuasive about how you can benefit the company as well as what you believe would gain that could be beneficial to you. Think about why you want the work experience and why would choose Deloitte and about how you are passionate about the industry and learning about it
