We received two talks from Feiri leadership and then took part in several team building exercises. Over a two day period, in teams, we undertook a case study. We analysed the workings of a fictional law firm and proposed how they could improve their business model. We also met with several Deloitte employees who gave us an insight to what they do via a Q&A panel.
I learned how to work better in a team, especially in selecting roles appropriately. I learned many techniques for public speaking which I’ve since utilised. I learnt many things about how a business functions, and many of what the sectors do in Deloitte. I spoke to several of the apprentices.
The work experience was very useful. I usually walk to school every day as it every close so having to get the train everyday was an interesting experience. It was enjoyable to learn about the many opportunities within Deloitte. And to speak to current employees about what they do there.
It was a very well organised event. Each day was well structured and there was never a moment wasted. To boost productivity we would start every day with an ice break exercise. These were great and felling the group together and to get past any awkwardness that may have been there.
I learned a lot about the company culture. Deloitte has a very modern approach to how their employees work at their company. By speaking to employees and apprentices they gave us a first hand insight into what it is like to work at Deloitte. The flexible hours are very good.
It helped a lot. I always wanted to go to university and had only begun looking into the apprenticeship pathway. However I stuck to my previous decision with university. Two of my friends did apply to Deloitte and they would not have done so if they hadn’t attended the work experience.
There was no payment as it was a work experience. The option was there to be reimbursed up to £50 for travel expenses I believe. I forgot to keep my ticket receipts so I was unable to be reimbursed. I think this was a very great gesture from your company.
Yes there were lots of opportunities to meet with other employees. We had a networking lunch where we got to meet with many of the employees of Deloitte. They worked in lots of different sectors, so we could ask about their work. A lot of us were interested in their journeys and how they got into Deloitte.
Yes
It was such a fun and enjoyable experience. Deloitte would be a great company for anyone to work at. The range of jobs there is immense. There are many career pathways you could take and it is clear to me that Deloitte care about their employees and their well being.
Just go for it! It is a rigorous process but that is to ensure the very best are hired and Deloitte keeps improving. The work experience programme is a foot in the door especially if you plan to apply through the aspire programme. Deloitte is a pathway to many opportunities.
