i am a mechanical fitter apprentice, so on a day to day i do mechanical j9obs using spanners such as valves and engines, however currently i am in the office being a design engineer apprentice, i enjoy doing cad drawings and having an input in how the objects goes together
yes i have learnt many skills while doing my apprenticeship, i have also learmnt goiod team skills working in a larger group, being a school leaver there was a lot to learn very quickly as i was not used to the work enviroment, i am continuing to learn new skills each day
when the work is there i enjoy the work, it makes the days goes faster but when there is no work i am bored and i dont enjoy the programme, i enjoy learning new things and feeling out of my depth wiuth how little i know, it makes me mind work harder
the orginisation in my first year was not great, i never knew what i was doing and whether my work would be completed on time, i didnt know when i was going to be put on the ships, when out of the training centre i didnt even know if i had an accessor
i didnt recieve muhc support as i didnt know what was going on with y apprenticeship, i have always felt that if i wanted progression i had to request it myself and it wasnt particually accepted by the hierachy, i want progression and feel lilke they stumped it so i couldnt progress
not much support, when needing certain jobs to complete my books they werent supportive to where i was being put to the jobs relevant to the book work, i was always requesting the jobs so i could fulfill my apprenticeship and work towards my qualifcations and the end of my grade
occasionally, writing abvout the jobs in my books meant i could remeber them and when i was redoing the job i could reflect back to what i done amd was able to complete it again, writing about it jogged my memory and also gave me clear jobs that i have completed
no there has not been many events that have been pre organised, in my first year we rarely had football games against other years and navy which were good for team building but these were regular enough to be benefictial, these need to be more frequent to continue working with your team
Yes
if you get into the rigjht section and the work is there it is a well recognised apprenticeship and will be sought after in future life, it is a big company with space to move round and improve on yourself whether thats qualifiucations, skills or life. when the work is there it is good
you need to give it a try becuase of the option is there then its another avenue to go down, it is a big company with many oppurtunities to be taken, there is good qulifications to have in the compoany and has many avenues toi be taken within the company
