  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently studying at college towards my qualifications, requires a selection of maths, engineering systems and other subjects.certain days are harder than other but are very applicable to what we do further down the line, Aslo enjoy meeting other people within the industry when we have the option. Would recommend.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, learned a lot more with higher level maths, also the practical side. Generally the company helps you to be more confident especially when giving presentations infront of audiences. I’ve also learned a lot more about the renewables sector and how the wind turbines work and run to generate electricity.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program, and enjoy working away from home and experiences given. You are provided with a lot of training which is very helpful for your cv and resume! The training your endure is relatively hard but it’s great skills you learn there and always relatable when in the job.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is well structured. The organisation in general is huge which means there is always help available. The HR part of the company is escpecially useful as if you have any issues or problems you can refer there and hopefully get the sorted out and resolved. I’d definitely recommend

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive as much support as I need which is excellent, this could range from small things to enquires or issues that I have. People who have had issues in the past and went to see them I have heard that there problems have been sorted as quick as possible

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive As much help as and when I need when I need it. The qualifications are generally quite hard as it is so it’s always great to have a good amount of people surrounding you which can lend a helping hand when needed. I’d definitely recommend the help they give

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that some of the practical and especially the training involved is very useful when I start working offshore. Sea survival is really fun and gives you a great insight in to what your getting into, also the working at heights training is another good one which gives you a good insight

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, we have informal meetings and annual celebrations which is great. These all Generally happen during annual event periods such as Christmas, Easter and so on. Holidays are great and they are very lineant if you need or have one booked, I’d recommend this to my friends and family

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Generally a great company and offer a lot of support! They are world wide based so there is a lot of opportunity to travel depending on which sector of Siemens your going into. They provide a great variety of support and guidance as and when needed. I’d invite friends to apply


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • Make sure your ready to commit and ensure your work ethics are in the right places. Prepare to move away from home for a period of time, for example Ive moved away for two years to compete my course due to the college I need to attend being in a different city
