the first year was college full time. This was to complete a BTEC level 3 and a PEO in electrical fitting. once the first year was complete, we then went into the office environment into our departments, this included day release at college. the work in the office was good
skills team work - when working in a team in the office to ensure that projects are handed out on time accuracy in my work - to ensure your work is the best it can be being on time and time management - to deliver work on time when needed people skills - to communicate effectively with a wide range of people management skills
the programme challenges you in the best way possible and allows you to become more confident in your abilities and yourself. the programme is a great way for someone to learn the real world and to gain great experience within the workplace and to help elevate your career into new possibilities
there were slight hiccups within the programme at first but the majority of the structure was well done. as with any structure, it is never perfect and there were a couple of times where the organization failed however these were all resolved. the overall structure of the programme was good and worked well
your employer and team manager are always there to help you with whatever question you have. they ensured that you didn't feel stupid and were very engaging. the employer is able to answer questions from work related technical questions to corporate structure and also best working practices. don't be afraid to ask
the training provider was always there to help with any questions you may have. the training provider is there to answer questions related to the structure of the apprenticeship and will help guide you to being able to achieve the best possible outcome for you. there are there to help you with any issue you may have
the training provided allows you to have a good foundation knowledge for your role within the office. there were many different qualifications gained from on the job training such as technical specific training, to manual handling and first aid, to project management fundamentals. these can all be used very effectively when performing your role in the company.
the team has a few good social outings during the year to celebrate achievements and the apprentice groups often go out. Christmas meals with the department are great fun and lets everyone get to know one another better. there are also IRSE training sessions once a week that allow you to expand your railway knowledge.

the pay is very good and competitive, the qualifications gathered through training will be helpful throughout your career and give you a great foundation. the potential for your career is endless with so many opportunities in a range of fields that you are open to and explore until you find what is best for you.
don't worry about failing, you should always give you best when ever possible and ensure that you always try and get feedback so that you are able to continue improving. Always work as hard as you can and ensure that you do not slack or become lazy. working hard allows you to become the best you possible
