overseeing members of staff who help to bring in products and then picking them out which then go to store. I also look after another department which picks out the ambient products for the 98 stores we provide for. I have 4 deputy management which run the shifts for which I oversee.
I have learnt more ways to deal and improve my way of management of skills. whilst here at my current role we have had the opportunity to go on courses which aid in our day to day running of the business and our own departments. always learning as each day comes.
again it is an opportunity to learn more skills and to further myself. it is over a couple of years but it is down to ones self how long it actually takes you to complete. it makes you think of additional ways about the business and to look at yourself about how you apply it.
it is very organised and very structured. I liaise with a manager with the programme and sort out various items regarding staff and rooms to book out for them. we all get emails and notifications regarding what is expected of all of us and what work we need to work through.
only the support of allowing us the time to do a master class when it needs attending. at the moment it is not clear whether we should be doing this within our work time. various members of staff have not got access to the internet which makes it difficult for them.
a lot of support. this is via email , telephone conversations and general phone calls should we have an issue. our trainer is very hands on and will get back to us if we have any problems or issues. they get back to us asap regarding anything we put their way.
we are learning new ways to deal with everyday issues and problems. it is getting us to look at the business from different angles and how to deal with issues that could result in us looking in a negative manner. overall making us a better manager and better person for future times.
they do not provide us with any such networking events. we all struggle to do these regarding out start times as everyone is on a slightly different shift. we do things through the TCT charity but that is solely done by the person themselves. aldi do not give us such events to participate in.
Yes
it is good money at aldi and currently a very stable job as it is the retail food industry and people will always need food. unless you do something stupid you are guaranteed a job for most of your life should you wish to carry on with it for the lifetime.
it is a very good job and career to apply for. it is very good money and very good prospects of moving up the ladder should you wish to progress through your lifetime. some of it is very physical but at the same time you are paid well for this.
