My role varies on a day to basis. I am involved in varies projects including the roll out of new IFRS standards, brexit preparedness, handling accounting queries as well being involved in month and quarter end reporting. In addition to this i have been involved in different digitalization topics and the role out of this.
Yes. I've learnt about technical accounting topics from hedging accounting to the recognition of new orders. More technical skills such as using SAP and other accounting software. Furthermore, training's are often provided to help learn new digitisation tools. i have also developed more basic tools such as excel.
It's an enjoyable team, with exciting opportunities to develop and learn into new and different roles. I am looking forward to new challenges that new placements will bring. Furthermore, there is a great networking opportunity amongst graduates form all sectors, these are usually enjoyable and will provide great opportunities in the future.
Fairly well structured, the general route and training are very well organised. For instance, the different training's provided, graduate days and study leave provided. On some occasions there could be better structure relating to day to day tasks however, this maybe unique to my role. For instance, on a day to day basis my role and jobs change.
Alot of support, we're offered a wide range of training's. As well as have access to signing up to more optional sessions. We also have regular contact with managers/mentors to help with any queries. For example my day to day manager is always available for more technical support. My other manager is always available for support on different topics that relate to life at siemens.
I have had a mixed response to this. Guidance has been provided when my manager put me in contact with a tutor, this was really helpful. He came and met with me to provide information where needed for me. I have sometimes found it difficult to receive support when trying this on my own for instance, trying to get more information or help.
This qualification is useful in giving an overview to various different topics. This hasn't always applied in my day to day role, however, im confident this will in the future. Currently I believe this is because i have just started my qualification and has not got into specific details yet.
There are networking events available as well as opportunities to get involved in other groups/teams. For instance running, gym and football groups. As graduates we're provided with with large networking events a few times a year. Furthermore, there are other topics and projects that are often looking for volunteers.
Yes
