I am a claims advisor, on a daily basis I take calls from customers with there queries and try to resolve their problems. I also have to work on claims throughout the day to make sure that each claim is being progressed and worked on. Also get breaks and lunch.
i have learnt a lot of skills whilst I have been trained here, we looked at many things we would come across on a daily basis and worked on our skills like communication with the customer and with external suppliers that the business uses, such as enterprise rent a car.
I enjoy the programme as i am around very friendly people working as a team to try and help progress peoples claims. It is a very nice environment as you will meet loads of people and get to know loads of people. We all help each other to get the job done.
My programme is very well structured. we followed a structure from the beginning and have followed it through ever since. the programme tests you on all aspects you would come across and it is based around your daily job so you never feel you are lacking on any bit of information
We receive a very good amount of help from our employer, we all have a assigned helper in our group who would help us when we are stuck also we have knowledge banks where if we are stuck and no one is around we can use the banks to get our answer.
Our training provider provides us with a lot of help. The training provider has given us very helpful textbooks that are very clear and detailed and will help you pass the qualification. Also we have a tutor that come in to see us every month to help us with anything.
The qualification helps us perform better in our role because it is very relevant to what we do on a daily basis. The qualification also contains more information around insurance so it helps us learn more about insurance as a whole and not just the claims part of the insurance industry.
With the Direct line group we have many opportunities to join social groups like yammer where we can discus our daily jobs and talk to people about anything. Also we have communities in the work place like the fire marshals, who every month come together to discuss their role and what improvements they can make around the work place.
Yes
Direct line is a good place to come and further your skills in the place of work, direct line offer many opportunities and also open doors to many roles within the business. Direct line also very good to their employees, awarding them for good performances when doing the job well.
The tips I would give to people looking to join the direct line group is that to look up what the business stands for and what there ambitions are. Also what can you bring to the company to make it a better place. Also be a very hard worker and do your job.
